- Compliance with Indiana University Information Technology (IT) Policies
All departments, units and users at Indiana University are required to follow University Policies that govern how IT resources at the university are managed.
All University IT policies are accessible at this website: https://policies.iu.edu/information-it/index.html
These policies ensure proper use of Indiana University’s technological resources. They apply to all users of such resources, regardless of affiliation and regardless of whether the resources are accessed on or off campus.
- College IT Policy Exemption Procedure
Compliance affects use and management of IT resources and, in some cases, compliance may interfere with ease of use or functionality to an extent that an exemption is warranted. As a result, the College has created a procedure regarding applying for an IT Policy Exemption. This procedure governs how IT Policy exemptions are documented, evaluated, and approved.
This exemption procedure is accessible here: College-Exemption-Procedure-Final-v2_5.2.2019.pdf
Prior to starting the process of applying for an IT policy exemption, users and their IT Professionals (henceforth, the ITPro) should make every effort to find a satisfactory policy compliant solution in a timely manner. This includes involving the broader ITPro community to explore options that may not be apparent in-house. If no satisfactory solution is found through this process, the user may request an IT policy exemption in accordance with the following procedure.
